FINANCIAL AUDITING SERVICES / GASB 67/68 COMPLIANCE

          The Worcester Regional Retirement Board is seeking responses from qualified parties interested in providing independent financial auditing services to the Board.  In addition, the Board seeks professional guidance to comply with the provisions of GASB 67 as they relate to the financial statements, and desires to assist its member units comply with the provisions of GASB 68.  The Board is considered a multiple employer pension plan serving 95 towns, districts and housing authorities throughout Worcester County.  The initial engagement for these services will commence with calendar year ending December 31, 2014 and continue for 2 subsequent reporting years.

As one of 105 public employee retirement systems within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Worcester Regional Retirement System operates under and administers the provisions of the contributory defined benefit plan established by Chapter 32 of the Massachusetts General Laws. Governed by a 5 member Board of Trustees, the plan has close to 12,000 members and over $400 million dollars in assets.
